This means that clients have the choice to include the FSC and we follow prescribed procedures.

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) scheme is supported by Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, the World Wildlife Fund and The Woodland Trust. The aim is to provide assurances that products are manufactured according to stringent environmental, social and economical standards. Moreover, material can be traced back to it's original source - a sustainable, well-managed forest.

How FSC accreditation benefits Cartouche's clients?

Since FSC labelled products are made with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment, the FSC label guarantees that the trees harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally.

The forests involved in the scheme are protected entirely, in order to safeguard rare animals and plants and the FSC respects the rights of indigenous people to use the forest. Indeed, forest owners are obliged to use local workers and provide training, safety equipment and a decent salary.

FSC is a market-based initiative which ensures better conditions for the forest and the people whose livelihoods depend on it and that future generations will be able to enjoy the benefits of it.
